I am not in the tech world in the slightest. I can't write a single line of code, I have no idea what Python does, and my computer monitor is still horizontal. This, fortunately, has nothing to do with my access to the latest tech. When I first got started in the business world, I was completely alone (like most were). I felt like an outcast - everyone was using crazy lingo and casually throwing around numbers I didn't even think we're possible (they are). I had no one to ask "hey man, feeling super left behind rn, any chance you could..." Again, common experience, but one we often forget about. No matter what you do, where you are - at some point you were COMPLETELY lost, and now you aren't. How did you get to that point? Likely either: a) Had an in (congrats, nepotism should never be frowned upon) b) You spent hours scrolling Twitter, reading Reddit (lol), watching YouTube etc. until you started to grasp it. This process is actually the best part of becoming successful. Whenever rich people talk about "the glory days" and how they "miss the struggle," they don't actually miss the chewing glass and long hours - they miss the clueless -> clued in transformation. This is the exact mindset you need to have for new technology. Fear mongering aside... If you don't, you're fucked. Just like nobody could've told me "Hey Riley, this is actually all you need to focus on for the next 2 years and you'll be set" (people did, thanks Griff, and I didn't listen because... nobody does). I can't tell you "Hey, this is exactly where you should be focusing on AI." But what I CAN tell you is this:
Example: I saw last week that DeepSeek (no clue) released r1 (no clue) and it completely changed the entire world as we know it. Cool, that seems important. Searched it up, followed some people, messed around with the AI agent for a few hours, ASKED IT how to use it (funny concept but it really works)... And now I've had 3 people ask me to "put them on the AI sauce bro" in the last 48 hours. With my VERY limited research, I can ABSOLUTELY confidently say you are all behind, myself included. AI 100x'd in the last 6 months, and people ARE getting replaced. Copywriters will lead teams of AI agents, and pretty much just feed them USPs/ICPs and edit. Designers will lead teams of AI agents, and just upload Brand Identity guidelines and piss out infinite logos etc. until they look good. ANY monotonous work will be COMPLETELY replaced. And YOU can be 3-5 years ahead of the ENTIRE PLANET by just not being afraid of being completely lost. Jump in head first, be the dumbest person in the room, and use your brain. You just need to capture 1/1000000000th of the value this new shift is creating and you can buy your ranch in Montana. It is a GIFT to be ahead of the curve... don't be lazy.
